Waterjet Cutting
Metal, plastic,
glass, wood, composites can be cut with a waterjet. Usually
an abrasive like sand or garnet is mixed with water to produce an
extremely powerful cutting tool that has
ultra high pressure that can be used to cut even the most delicate and
brittle material such as glass. Straight water is ideal for cutting softer
materials such as foam, paper, or rubber.
There
is no stress or heat affected zones to the material. Material can be up to 6
inches thick can be cut with no tool changes . Because there is no
heat or chemical impact to material, material yields are greatly
improved. Straight cuts, holes, curved corners and even contoured cutting
are accomplished easily, with no programming needed. Features such as
nesting and auto height sensing improve utilization of materials, as well as
reducing operator time.
ACCURACY
The
waterjet is designed to deliver the highest possible accuracy:
+/-.003" over full travel. Whether you are fabricating metal parts, cutting
foam, or the thinnest composite material, a waterjet is the most versatile
equipment to use.
